PRESS STATEMENT
(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE)

NEW FAZ LEGION ACHIEVEMENTS – 1ST 120 DAYS

Through one sustained unified vision, we aim at enhancing the image of Zambian Football with every action we undertake. As an Executive Committee we are committed to upholding the highest levels of professionalism and attain levels of distinction for Zambian Football.

As we firmly set our “Eyes on the Ball”, it is therefore significant that we share some of the achievements that the NEW FAZ LEGION has attained over the first 120 days in office.

NATIONAL TEAM TECHNICAL BENCH
In our work to attain the highest standards of football through sustained development, key partnerships and international exposure, it is significant to engage technical persons to carry that vision forward.

In that regard, we have engaged trainer Herve Renard, physical coach Patrice Beaumelle and Team Manager Hayden Dingwall.

INTERNATIONAL GAMES
It is through the work of the national trainers and players applying their skills on the pitch that we will get the desired results but that route to becoming a continental powerhouse and for the Chipolopolo to reclaim its rightful place in African football once again, we have to continue our participation in World and Nations Cup qualifiers.

These will be supplemented by friendly games.
These games will help us attain the highest standard of football as it will ensure sustained development, key partnerships and International exposure.

Over the ended 120 days plus, the interest shown in playing against Zambia has been overwhelming to say the least. We have had to turn down many offers.

But in the recent past we have played high profile first class international games in Libya and Iran.

Over the coming months, we are set to play past World Cup tournament finalists Chile, Ivory Coast and Kenya among offers we are working on.

Our Under 20 is also being courted by their Nigerian counterparts.

SPONSORSHIPS AND PARTNERSHIPS
The new philosophy of FAZ will be to embark on long term meaningful relationships rather than quick short contracts for once off events.

This will take Zambian Football into a new dawn both on an off the field; Nationally, Continentally and Globally.

We have tailored sponsorship packages on current market value and the latest commercial trends. Many corporate bodies have shown keen interest and we are confident to announce meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships within the next two weeks which will come in the wake of contract renewals with Konkola Copper Mines PLC and Nike International.

We have also appointed EXP Sports and Marketing Agency to raise and manage sponsorships for the Football Association.

We also continue to explore and enhance partnerships with the following:
1. Super Sport
2. Zambian Breweries PLC
3. Mobile network
4. Bank
5. Vehicle Supplier
6. I.T Supplier
7. Hospitality Partner

NEW DEVELOPMENTS
To move in tandem with global and latest football developments, the FAZ has introduced and will continue to embrace modern football development trends.

Some of them are:
1. Ticketing – incorporating measures for anti-counterfeit
2. Media accreditation – for professionalism and as per FIFA best practices
3. Photographers bibs – for professionalism and as per FIFA best practices
4. Ushers uniforms – for professionalism
5. Security measures  as  per FIFA standard

BRANDING
The more we value our brand, the more valuable it will become. We plan to give our partners the best Return on investment possible and as such will be showcasing them at every opportunity employing tools which will include usage of our FAZ logo, Perimeter field branding as well as redesigning and use of an Interview board with our partners showcased.

COMMUNICATION
New media is the future.
We are as good as our ability to keep up with new trends and technologies.
In that light we will redesign and revamp our website – an effective tool of communication and collaborate with partners like Super Sport who have an excellent portal as well as a history of hosting some of the best sporting websites in the world.
Together we plan to take the FAZ website into a different dimension and that area of communications is to be spearheaded by the Communications Officer, Erick Mwanza.

NATIONAL EXECUTIVE
The Executive Committee wants to achieve excellence both on and off the field.
The futuro course hosted by FIFA recently is the first step in keeping up with FIFA’s world wide experience and best practices on running a professional football association
