And clubs in the Eastern Province, including the Eastern Province Amateur Football Association (EPAFA) have pledged their support for Bwalya and assured him of a 100% vote during the March 29 annual general meeting.
The elective AGM of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is scheduled for Lusaka’s Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
Bwalya, who toured the Eastern Province last week, was humbled by the strong support from Mpezeni, EPAFA, the clubs and entire football family.
He reiterated his call to build a strong foundation for Zambian football, a base from which the nation could mount a strong challenge for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa as well as the Nations Cup in Angola.
He expressed happiness that councilors were receptive to his vision for football and called on the entire Zambian football fraternity to continue spreading messages of his vision, plans and programmes for the development of the game.
“Our message has been very consistent. We have laid our plans and clearly stated what we intend to do to take Zambia to the top of the global game. We are humbled by the support from across the country and optimistic that together we will emerge victorious on March 29 and be able to unite as one family for the good of the game,” Bwalya added.
In his continued tours across the country Bwalya has received endorsement from clubs in the Southern, Lusaka, Central, Copperbelt, Lusaka and Eastern provinces.
His campaign tours should see him visit remaining provinces including Luapula, North-Western, Western and Northern Provinces.
Days before he is to embark on tours of the other provinces, Bwalya has continued to receive support and messages of goodwill from these regions.
