Kalusha appointed to FIFA taskforce

Football Association of Zambia President and CAF Executive Committee Member Kalusha Bwalya has been appointed to serve on the FIFA Task Force Football 2014.

The FIFA Task Force Football 2014 mandate is to look for constructive proposals to improve both the attractiveness of football and match control in elite competitions.

Other focal point areas the Task Force will deal with include the Laws of the Game, refereeing, competition regulations, women's football, medicine and fair play.

The Task Force Football 2014 will be chaired by German football great Franz Beckenbauer.

FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke informed the African soccer great of the appointment in a letter dated 5th April 2011 addressed to Kalusha.

The first meeting of the Task Force Football 2014 will be held at the Home of FIFA in Zurich on 10th May 2011.

Said Kalusha of his new appointment: "It is a great honour and privilege to serve the game at this level on such an important committee as the FIFA Task Force.

I will endeavour to do my utmost best to contribute to development of the game worldwide.

Football is our life, it is our passion and our nation, the fans and our people as a whole identify with it and its glory as does the rest of the world. That is why as we serve, we work for the good of the game and for humanity.

Zambia and Africa and the game which has a home in every nation and territory shall be served well by all of us individual and collective ability, commitment and through the work we shall undertake to take the game to another level of success."
