FAZ chief prays for Levy’s quick recovery

FOOTBALL HOUSE, LUSAKA - FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Kalusha Bwalya has sent a message of quick recovery to President Mwanawasa, the Association’s Patron.
In his letter dated July 3 2008 addressed to Vice President Rupiah Banda, Bwalya said: “We have learnt of His Excellency the President’s illness with a deep sense of grief while he was attending the AU summit in the Egyptian town of Sharm-El-Sheik.”

“During this difficult period, we remember our President in our prayers and sincerely hope that he should be able to return to good health soon.”

“We look forward to welcoming you home soon,” Bwalya added. The FAZ chief said as head of state, President Mwanawasa had continued to score many successes in various sectors, citing the advancement of the economy, good governance, graft crusade, his regional duties as SADC chairman as well as his support to sports development in the country.

“As our Patron, we remain indebted to your government’s continued support of football and our executive committee as a whole.” “We remain optimistic that the medics assigned to your Excellency are doing the best and that the Almighty God’s healing hand is touching you so that you can return home to share with us in the joys of the beautiful game of football,” the FAZ chief said.
President Mwanawasa is currently admitted at Percy Clamart Military Hospital in France after suffering a stroke in Egypt. Details of the President’s sickness and updates are being provided by the government and can be accessed on the State House website.

MESSAGE OF GOOD WILL

We have learnt of His Excellency the President’s illness with a deep sense of grief while he was attending the AU summit in the Egyptian town of Sharm-El-Sheik.

During this difficult period, we remember our President in our prayers and sincerely hope that he should be able to return to good health soon.

We are aware of the many successes the Government under his leadership has continued to score in various sectors, prominent among them are promoting and upholding the tenets of democracy and good governance, fighting corruption as well as the leading role in dealing with international matters as evidenced by his  work as SADC Chairman.

As our Patron, we remain indebted to the government for its continued support to football and our Executive Committee as a whole.

We remain optimistic that the medics assigned to his Excellency are doing their best and that the Almighty God’s healing hand is touching him so that he can return home to share with us the joys of the beautiful game of football.

We look forward to welcoming him home soon.
