Bwalya attends FIFA meeting

His departure for Zurich came in the wake of increasing support for his presidential bid.
Bwalya is expected to return from Zurich by the end of the week.
Over the ended week, he received backing from Eastern province clubs and his candidature was endorsed by Paramount Chief Mpezeni.
Since retiring from active football Bwalya has chaired on international committees including the FIFA committees; is a member of the CAF technical and committee and was recently appointed to the World Anti Doping Association (WADA).
The former Zambia National Soccer team skipper, who ended his playing days with 100 caps and 50 goals for the Chipolopolo is also South Africa 2010 World Cup ambassador.
According to Bwalya’s spokesperson, Erick Mwanza” “Kalusha’s experience and administration proficiency is demonstrated by his service to the world game. We are happy that the football family has recognized his love and commitment to football development in Zambia. He is deeply humbled by the support he is receiving from clubs across the country. He is determined to work together with the rest of the executive committee and the football community to move Zambia forward.”
“The important thing for the clubs and councilors is to maintain the support and keep the momentum and elect him President of FAZ so that we give a new direction to Zambian football. He loves the game, the country and clearly has the best plan for the game,” Mwanza said.
